San Lucas is the first in Wisconsin to offer Syapse oncology technology
Aurora Health Care announced that it has launched a new program for the treatment of cancer patients whose cancer was resistant to conventional treatment options such as radiation and chemotherapy.
South Medical Center at 27th Street and Oklahoma Avenue West in Milwaukee Aurora St. Luke has launched a new program for the treatment of patients in oncology.
Multidisciplinary Clinical Oncology Precision Medicine is located within the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora St. Luke Medical Center in Milwaukee.
The clinic will help doctors provide more care options to patients using a new technology that is not yet available in Wisconsin, called Syapse.
Syapse is bringing precision to a medical software system that combines previously clinical, molecular, treatment and results fragmented to support complex clinical decisions.
Once implemented in the fall, work will be done in conjunction with Aurora's electronic health records system. Syapse also the possibility to access and compare data on the treatment and actual results of other major cancer centers across the country thanks to the precision of network oncology (OPEN), the largest exchange network data on cancer cancéologie accuracy Non-profit health systems.
With open, cancer experts will share data on treatments and outcomes of more than 100,000 patients while preserving patient privacy.
The molecular genetic composition of each tumor was compared to the patient's results, providing possible ideas about how certain treatments may be more effective and perhaps finding a treatment option in a shorter period.

In early 2018, 19 Aurora cancer care institutions across eastern Wisconsin have access to Syapse.
Medicine Precision Clinical Oncology at St. Luke includes a representation of medical oncology, pharmacy, pathology, research and genetic counseling for patients to receive the full range of care.
Dr. Michael Thompson, a board-certified hematologist and oncologist, holds a PhD in pharmacogenetics, will be the co-director of the program; Jennifer Godden, PharmD, is the other co-director of the program, which will also include specialized medical oncologists and molecular pathologist.
